If an Incident Occurs

Faculty, Staff, or Student Workers with non-life threatening injuries should contact their supervisor and seek medical assistance at one the WFU preferred employee health medical providers.

Faculty, Staff, and Student Employees:  If you are injured on the job as a result of a work-related compensable accident, as soon as reasonably possible, the employee who has sustained an injury or accident must report it to their supervisor and Human Resources by emailing absence@wfu.edu or by phone at (336)758-4700, press option 3. Supervisors will be provided instructions to complete the First Report of Incident form.

Student Injuries: Supervisors should complete the First Report of Student Injury form.

Incidents that Require Immediate Notification

Notify EHS immediately (after first aid/medical care/emergency services) if a workplace incident involves any of the following since EHS reports these to regulatory and funding agencies:

Biological, Chemical, Laser, and Radiological Exposure

First Aid Kits

First aid kits are intended to allow persons to treat themselves and/or their co-workers for minor medical incidents and are not intended to replace professional Emergency Medical Services (EMS).

More information as to the contents and use of First Aid Kits may be found here.

Any injury at work should be reported to a supervisor immediately.  Supervisors must complete the First Report of Incident form as soon as possible. Information on the workers’ compensation process and contact information for approved clinics can be found on HR’s website
