STOP THE BLEED* – You Are the Help Until Help Arrives

Stop the Bleed* encourages bystanders to become trained, equipped, and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives.

According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), trauma is the leading cause of death for Americans under age 45. Life-threatening injuries require immediate action to prevent an injured person from dying. Those nearest are best positioned to provide first care. Stop the Bleed* aims to build national resilience by better preparing the public to save lives by raising awareness of basic actions to stop life-threatening bleeding following everyday emergencies and man-made and natural disasters.

Stop the Bleed* training teaches individuals how to provide initial actions to stop uncontrolled bleeding in emergencies. This online presentation goes through three methods of bleeding control using video demonstrations, interactive learning, and spontaneous quizzes. The course is free and can be taken multiple times.
